Correlation of type II adsorption isotherms of water contaminants using modified BET equations

چکیده
The BET equation is commonly used to describe type II sigmoid isotherms of water contaminants. However, there are some that do not agree with the equation. In this paper, three modified equations (Aguerre–Suarez–Viollaz, Pantuso–Tolaba–Aguerre, and Aranovich–Donohue) evaluated against published isotherm data dysprosium, reactive blue 5G, naphthenic acid. cases studied, shown outperform original Aranovich–Donohue a promising model, offering accurate correlations statistically significant parameter estimates. particular, it very effective in tracing atypical curve shapes 5G acid isotherms. Although has attracted much attention, practical alternative widely for correlating adsorption

Water adsorption isotherms of lipids.
Hydration of bilayer lipids is a fundamental property of biological membranes. The available database of lipid hydration isotherms is fitted over the entire range of water activities by using a statistical mechanical approach that is an extension of the common Brunauer-Emmett-Teller model, to include differential energies of association for water molecules beyond the first strongly bound layer....
متن کاملSimulated water adsorption isotherms in carbon nanopores
Water adsorption isotherms are calculated by grand canonical Monte Carlo simulations for the SPC/E water model in carbon nanopores at 298K. The pores are of slit or cylindrical morphology. Carbon-slit pores are of widths 0.8, 1.0 and 1.6 nm. The simulated single-walled carbon nanotubes are of 1.4 and 2.7 nm diameter ((10:10) and (20:20) respectively). In all cases considered, the adsorption iso...
متن کاملPreconcentration of Zn(II) in Water Sample Using Modified NanoFiber
A new simple and reliable method for rapid and selective extraction and determination of trace levels of Zn(II) ion is developed. Zn(II) ions are adsorbed quantitatively during passage of aqueous samples through PET-AA/AAm nano fiber modified. Almost all matrix elements were found to pass through the nano fiber to drain. Modified Poly (ethylene terephthalate)-grafted-Acrylic acid/Acryl amide Na...

متن کاملAdsorption of Ni(II) and Cd(II) from Aqueous Solutions Using Modified Rice Husk
Background and purpose: Recently, release of pollutants such as heavy metal ions to the environment becomes one of the most important problems for soil and water. The present study was conducted to introduce modified rice husk (RH) as a new low-cost adsorbent. Materials and Methods: In this study, tartaric acid modified RH (TARH), was used as an adsorbent for removal of Ni(II) and Cd(II) from w...
